RIDE4ROSE was organized and named after Rosemary Slaughter-Pate who was violently murdered in her bedroom at the hands of her then 19 year-old son, July 15, 2013. Rosemary suffered silently from years of verbal, economical and psychological abuse from her son.
RIDE4ROSE (sponsored by The Morning After Center for Hope and Healing, Inc., a community based 501(c)3 non-profit organization) is an organized group of cyclists whose mission is to ride and raise awareness, educate, and encourage legislators to support, identify/codify Child-to-Parent Violence/Abuse as a form of domestic violence. Our hope is that local, state and national governmental agencies will create a coordinated response to victims of Child-to-Parent Violence/Abuse that will include effective early intervention programs, add additional resources and police protection to save lives of parents all around the world.
We invite you to follow us as we cycle for parents who’re silent and unable to speak because of the stigma attached to this form of abuse. Please contact your elected officials and ask them to pass the first ever Child-to-Parent Violence/Abuse bill in 2016.
